I have been a math teacher for Alpine School District since 1998. I currently teach at Oak Canyon Junior High in Lindon. I have a bachelor’s degree from BYU in Math Education, a master’s degree from WGU in Curriculum and Instruction and a school administration endorsement from BYU. I have been involved in Utah education on the local, district and state level. I have taught several professional development classes for the state and Alpine School District.
I am passionate about education. Thomas Jefferson stated, “I think by far the most important bill in our whole code is that for the diffusion of knowledge among the people. No other sure foundation can be devised for the preservation of freedom, and happiness.” I believe that a strong, effective public education is vital to ensuring our freedom and happiness. I will collaborate with other representatives to support public education in order to protect our democracy.
